Public Utility Bill Payment

Each household is billed for electricity, gas and telephone (domestic calls) services every month, and a bill for water services once every two months. Payment can be made at banks, post offices or public utility offices. With the exception of the water bill, an extra charge for late payment is added to the next month’s bill if you fail to pay before the date specified. You can also pay your bills by automatic account transfer if you complete the applicable procedures at the bank or post office where you have a financial account. The NHK broadcasting fee can also be paid by automatic bank account transfer.
