Various Types of Social Welfare

The city has various welfare programs to improve the general welfare of its residents. Foreign residents may take advantage of these welfare services as well.

Child and Family Support Center

Consultation concerning all aspects of children and family is available. If you feel unsure about or do not understand something, do not carry these burdens alone. Call for a consultation as soon as possible. Telephone consultation services are also available.
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Closed: Sundays, national holidays and from December 29 to January 3.

Child Welfare

A child allowance and various other allowances are available for those who are raising children. Some restrictions apply, such as the age of the child and the income of the person raising the child.

Elderly Welfare

Various consultation, such as on everyday assistance and nursing care, are available for those who are about 60 years of age or older.

Welfare for the Physically/Mentally Disabled

Various specific services, such as everyday living support and nursing care, are available for those with disabilities. The “Handbook for the Physically-Disabled” (Shintai Shogaisha Techo) for Physically-Disabled persons and “Handbook for the Mentally-Disabled” (Ai no Techo) for the Mentally-Disabled persons, which are required when taking advantage of these services, are issued by the city according to the level of the disability.
